Lee Kuan Yew: Singapore can become the Paris in South East Asia

"If you want to compete beaches on beaches, forests, lakes, seasides, you lose. You can't beat Thailand, you can't beat Indonesia and you can't beat Philippines. But we can become the Paris in South-east Asia." - MM Lee Kuan Yew, Aug 2006

That was said 6 years ago. So, are we there yet?
